Grand Illusion is one of 10 yachts chosen to be featured in a new television series about mega yachts to air in 2018.
GRAND ILLUSION is designed to provide comfortable places for the entire party to dine and socialize. Spacious outdoor areas offer a variety of places to enjoy the sun or cool off in the shade. The Sky Lounge Aft deck is a favorite place for alfresco dining , seating up to ten at the large wood table. An additional 8 persons can be seated on the two corner settees for cocktails and conversation.
Aft of the main salon is a large open deck with comfortable seating for ten. Steps lead down to the teak swim platform “beach” deck with chairs and umbrellas. An inflatable dock provides access to the tender and wave runners with a fold up stairway to easily get in and out of the water.
The Sundeck is the most popular spot on the yacht for sunning and lounging. A 10 person Jacuzzi has a retractable Sunbrite TV with surround sound speakers, lots of sun pad and lounge space; a dining table with seating for 8-10 and a covered wet bar with refrigerator and ice maker.
Grand Illusion offers a full complement of facilities and amenities for relaxation and recreation. The expansive Sun Deck is equipped with everything for fun in the sun including a sun lounges, Jacuzzi, exercise equipment and a wet bar. As the sun goes down, this area converts to the ideal spot to enjoy movies and other entertainment with the big screen open-air cinema.
A large swim platform and a complement of water toys provide a wide selection of activities for guests to choose from. Steps from the main deck, the Swim Platform provides easy access to the outboard tender and the great selection of water toys and fun towables. Enjoy water skiing, swimming and paddleboarding right from the boat. Have the tender take you to the beach for a picnic or to a coral reef for snorkeling. There’s so much to do onboardLumiere that guests never run out of options.

Grand Illusions accommodates 10 guests in 5 ensuite staterooms.
Every guest stateroom aboard Grand Illusion provides absolute luxury, privacy and comfort. All feature warm woods, fine designer fabrics, specialty wall coverings, and luxury linens. Each stateroom is individually climate controlled for your comfort.
The opulent full beam Master suite is on the main deck, with a King Sized bed, extra large walk-in closet and lots of drawer space. There is a couch, large work desk and chair, vanity with lighted magnifying mirror, and a 60″ flat screen TV with Direct TV. The His and Hers marble bathroom has dimmable lighted & mirrored cabinets, separate toilets, plenty of counter space and a walk in marble shower.
On the Lower Deck are four guest staterooms:
The forward “Alabaster” room features a California King Sized bed, 54″ flat screen TV with it’sown Direct TV receiver, HBO & other movie channels plus a BluRay DVD. There are also two side chairs and a desk plus a large closet and marble bathroom with shower.
The midship “Ebony” stateroom features a California King Sized bed, 24″flat screen TV/DVD combo with it’s own Direct TV receiver, HBO & other movie channels. A vanity and desk features lighted and dimmable makeup mirror. There is also a large closet and marble bathroom with shower.
The “Silver” stateroom is aft, and features a Queen Sized bed, 54″flat screen TV with Direct TV, HBO& other movie channels, and a BluRay DVD player. A mirrored vanity is complete with a magnifying lighted make up mirror. There is also a couch and marble bathroom with shower.
The “Twin” is also aft, featuring two twin beds with personal end tables, across from a desk and flat screen TV with DirectTV. There is also a closet and marble bathroom with shower.

Steve has been in yachting for over 25 years. He started his career in California cruising the west coast of the United States, Canada and Mexico. In the late 90’s he moved to Europe running charter yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Steve enjoys all type of sport but mainly skiing, surfing and golf.Engineer: Kris Signs
Kris was born in Santa Rosa, California. He learned mechanical engineering from his grandfather and used these skills to become a heavy equipment mechanic. Thereafter, Kris moved to Florida to pursue his career in marine engineering. His hobbies include water sports and classic car restoration.First Mate: Bennie Fourie
Ben Fourie is from Cape Town in South Africa. He has been in the yachting industry since 2006 and working his way up the ranks to become a Yacht Captain. He is always willing to give a hand were its needed. Ben loves traveling and meeting new people and getting enriched with different cultures.Deckhand: Nicohlas De Beer
Nicohlas was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He owned his own Transport company before deciding to leave the office and make his love for the water and boating a more permanent fixture in his life. Although relatively new to the industry, he is looking forward to making a career out of it. He loves working outside and enjoying nature.Chef: Natalie Smith
Natalie has recently found her sea legs with an exciting career move that has taken her 20 years of experience in restaurant kitchens and as a private chef to the water. She is passionate about cooking food that is creative, fresh and delicious and with an enthusiasm for travel and people her food has been inspired and informed equally by the skills acquired in a high-profile London restaurant, street food in Asia or a bustling local food market. Mel was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was raised on a farm and she has always been an adventurer at heart. Prior to her career in yachting, she worked as a flight attendant on Private Jets. She prides herself on attention to detail and creativity, while providing the highest level of service. Michelle grew up in Pretoria, South Africa. After school, she obtained a BEd degree in Special Needs Teaching from the University of Pretoria. Prior to her career in yachting, Michelle was a teacher and left her job to pursue her lifelong dream to work on the ocean. Michelle has a big love for the sea and enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
