Colin was born in the UK and grew up in South Africa.
Colin sailed professionally for ten years until 1998, and then spent the next 7 years running various sailing boats in South East Asia. Colin’s next command was on a Perini-Navi in 2005, followed by Captain on M/Y PASSION for 7 years. Colin is a PADI Divemaster and holds his MCA 3000 ton Captain’s license. He is a RYA Jet Ski and Level II Powerboat Instructor and as a result, M/Y MIRAGE can issue jet ski licenses for the duration of a trip.
As Captain of M/Y MIRAGE, Colin combines his extensive experience and qualifications to guarantee a fun-filled vacation with a well-developed sense of safety and security. Colin is always upbeat and great fun to be around and ensures that his crew all maintain the same positive attitude that he does. He places strong emphasis on planning, organization and training to ensure impeccable vessel preparation and presentation. Colin handpicks professional and motivated crew to cater for your every need.

Steve was born in Germany and grew up in South Africa.
Steve is an accomplished yachtsman, completing his first trans-Atlantic crossing as skipper on his parent’s catamaran aged just 23. This experience ignited a passion to embark on a yachting career and 25 years on, Steve continues to be inspired by the many different aspects of yachting. In 1996 Steve became 2nd Officer on M/Y LADY MOURA, at the time one of the largest yachts in the world, and was promoted to 1st Officer in 2002.
As rotational Captain of M/Y MIRAGE, Steve uses his wealth of experience and passion for his job to ensure you have the best possible time onboard. Steve leads by example and he and his crew always give 110%. He is brilliantly personable and is always on hand to give advice on itineraries/ anchorages/ excursions etc. Steve works diligently to plan and carry out your perfect trip.
Steve is a huge rock music fan and attends many concerts when he’s on land. He also likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two boys.
Steve joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2013.Chief Engineer: Mark Bevis
Mark was born in the UK and moved to Mallorca in 2008.
Mark served a five-year Marine Engineering Apprenticeship immediately after finishing school. His passion for boats took him onto Flotilla Yachts where he worked for 3 years before joining the superyacht industry. Mark has been a Chief Engineer for 17 years and has worked all over the world.
Mark is an excellent troubleshooter and is always on hand to aid with any technical questions you may have. He has extensive knowledge of M/Y MIRAGE and is very happy to share information with interested parties.
When not working, he enjoys hiking and fishing on his self-built boat.
Mark joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2013.Chief Engineer: Stuart Rawlins
Stuart was born and raised in South Africa.
The combination of Stuart’s desire to travel and increase his knowledge in engineering, led him to the yachting industry where he has been working as an engineer for 10 years. He has completed over 10 transatlantic crossings and traveled significantly across the globe including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Brazil, the East Coast of the United States and French Polynesia to name a few. Stuart also managed a private island off the coast of Honduras for two years, which entailed the conservation of exotic animals and multiple construction projects. Always upbeat and with a smile on his face, Stuart will gladly take any guests for a tour of the engine room.
When not at sea, Stuart loves mountain biking and dirt biking.
Stuart joined M/Y MIRAGE in March 2016.First Mate: Tim Lempriere
Tim was born in Auckland, New Zealand.
Tim embarked on his yachting career in 2007 and has travelled the Mediterranean and the Caribbean extensively over the last 9 years. He recently obtained his Chief Mate 3000 ton ticket and also holds his PADI Advanced Open Water diving certificate, RYA Jet Ski and Powerboat Level II Instructor qualifications.
Tim leads an excellent deck crew of four and is on hand to ensure that all your needs are met – be it learning how to wakeboard or scoping out the best snorkeling sites in the area. Tim has an excellent sense of humor and is fantastic around children.
Prior to yachting, Tim played rugby professionally in New Zealand and also worked for a top PR firm in London. He is passionate about the ocean and owns property in Nicaragua where he can indulge in his love of surfing.
Tim joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2008.First Mate: Ben Dickerson
Ben was born and raised in New Jersey. He was first introduced to boating by his father at a young age. Ben has worked in the yachting industry for over 10 years and his previous vessels include M/Y Highlander, M/Y Passion and most recently M/Y Trafalgar where he was the captain.
Ben holds his MCA Chief Mate 3000 Ton License and is an advanced PADI Diver. An active outdoorsman, Ben enjoys wake boarding, snowboarding, camping, rock climbing and white water rafting. When not onboard Ben loves to spend time with his wife and sons.
Ben joined M/Y Mirage in 2015.2nd Engineer: Andy ingle
Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Andy has always had a passion for the sea and an outdoor lifestyle. His investigative and inquiring mind steered him to qualify in IT Engineering in 2010. Over the next 3 years, Andy gained extensive experience within the IT field working as a Technical Manager before pursuing a yachting career in 2014. Yachting has taken Andy to various places around the world, including the Caribbean and USA, where he was fortunate enough to expand his marine engineering knowledge as 2nd Engineer on various private and charter yachts.
Andy is always ready to assist with all your IT needs, ensuring your experience on board is as smooth as possible. In addition, he is always willing to help when guests go diving, having gained his Dive Master certification in 2014.
Andy joined M/Y Mirage in July 2016.Bosun: Josh Herant
Josh was born in Rhodes, Greece. He was first introduced to yachting at a very young age, having grown up in a family shipyard over there. At a later stage, he moved to the U.K to complete his education, before making the decision to join the yachting industry alongside many members of his family. Josh has worked on various charter boats over the past 4 years and is currently working towards his Officer of the Watch.
During his time in the U.K Josh discovered a love for freeskiing, mountain biking, sport climbing and bouldering. He also loves watersports, being a keen swimmer and wakeboarder.
Josh joined M/Y Mirage in 2016.Lead Deck Hand - Dive Instructor: Evlyn Hunter-Smith
Evlyn was born in South Africa.
Evlyn obtained her RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualification in 2012. Her love of the ocean started at a very young age and she became an open water scuba diver aged 14. Evlyn continued her scuba education and became an instructor in 2003 and then worked professionally for over 6 years in South Africa, Mozambique and Thailand.
Evlyn is the ideal person to snorkel with as she is very calm and reassuring. She researches to find the best spots available and has great marine life knowledge which enables her to educate those she swims with. She’s encouraging and very competent. Evlyn can assist you and your guests with rendezvous diving during your charter.
Previously, Evlyn has worked as an overland tour guide, travelling around Southern and East Africa. Evlyn likes to keep fit and is a keen swimmer.

Sam was born and raised on the south coast of the UK.
Sam obtained a Sports degree focusing mainly on the teaching and learning aspects of sports and was involved in the education profession, teaching sport and science, before embarking on a career in yachting.
Growing up on the water, Sam was exposed to a wide range of water sports from a very young age, all of which became his major hobbies and interests. It was a logical progression into the yachting industry and Sam will no doubt enjoy sharing his passion for the ocean with guests and is always eager to teach. Sam is happiest in or on the water and with his positive, up beat personality and great team spirit, guests are guaranteed to enjoy their water activities with him.
Sam joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2015.Deck Hand: Jovian Short
Jovian was born and raised in the South West of England.
Having spent most of his youth sailing, Jovian worked his way up the Olympic pathway by sailing skiffs for team GBR. It was with this great experience and success that he had the opportunity to move onto the coaching side of skiff sailing, where he coached the same squad he was once a part of.
With his early passion for being on the water and after recently finishing studying, Jovian's next port of call was the yachting industry. He enjoys the opportunity to spend more time at sea and expand his skills as a deckhand aboard Mirage.
Jovian joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2016.Chief Stewardess: Megan Rutty
Megan was born in the UK and lived there until 2013 after graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in Geography.
Megan always knew that she wanted to embark on a career in yachting and started in October 2013 where she quickly climbed through the ranks. Megan leads her fantastic team of five interior staff to ensure all of your needs are met, be it sundowner cocktails, booking restaurants or a 'pirate themed' lunch. Megan has gained extensive experience as a stewardess over the years and works meticulously to ensure all of your needs are catered for. Megan’s personable and attentive nature ensures unforgettable memories are made throughout your trip.
Megan is passionate about sport and excels in many. She has represented both her country in rounders as captain, and her county as captain of the hockey team. When not onboard, Megan likes to travel and has been fortunate enough to explore a variety of countries.

From an early age, Elin had a passion for being on the water and every summer she would sail around the beautiful archipelago of Stockholm.
In school, Elin studied social economics, but always preferred to have an active job. When Elin finished studying, she worked as a waitress serving high class clientage wine and champagne, in the old town of Stockholm. Elin strives to give a high standard of service and is never without smile. She has perfected this through many years of working in 4* restaurants and hotels.
Elin loves to travel and lived in the Austrian Alps for 2 years where she worked in a hotel and in an A`pres ski bar.
Elin decided to unite her love for travel, dedication to high quality service, and lifelong passion of being at sea and joined the yachting industry.
Elin joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2016.Stewardess - Message & Beauty Therapist: Sarah Webb
Sarah was born and raised in the UK.
Sarah qualified as a Beauty Therapist in 2007 and has gained extensive experience in many aspects of the industry.
Sarah's passion for travelling and her beauty therapy skills steered her to yachting, making it the perfect career choice. She is a conscientious and proactive stewardess who always works hard to ensure guest satisfaction. With many years of experience, she is also a great massage and beauty therapist. Sarah focuses on Swedish and deep tissue massage as well as being experienced in aromatherapy massage. She is always on hand to discuss your various needs and requirements when it comes to both massage and other beauty needs including different types of treatments such as manicures and pedicures, facial treatments, body scrubs and eyelash tinting and eyebrow tinting and threading.
When not onboard, Sarah loves to travel as she enjoys experiencing different cultures from all over the world and has recently returned from touring around South East Asia.
Sarah joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2015.Stewardess - Pilates & Fitness Instructor: Kate Schoombee
Kate was born in Durban on the East Coast of South Africa.
Kate grew up with the beautiful Indian Ocean on her doorstep and so her love for the sea and passion for a fit and healthy lifestyle was instilled. An avid sportswoman, she excelled at a national level in many sports such as swimming, lifesaving, long distance surfski paddling, canoeing and water polo to name a few. Nowadays her pure joy for surfing, Pilates and running has taken precedence.
Kate originally qualified with a Bachelor of Education Degree, majoring in Sports Science. However, her love for teaching and coaching grew beyond the school system and so she further qualified as a Personal Trainer before specializing in Pilates. Kate has dedicated the past nine years to mastering this wonderful form of conditioning exercise, having completed her 600 hr Advanced Pilates Instructor Course in the New York Method.
With her beyond extensive knowledge of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and keeping fit, Kate is on hand to give any advice or even conduct an early sunrise Pilates session, if you so desire.
Kate joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2015.Stewardess - Massage & Beauty Therapist: Stephanie Franzella
Stephanie was born and raised in France.
Stephanie qualified as a Beauty Therapist in 2011. She started her career in a 4* Spa where she gained high quality experience in ensuring ultimate satisfaction for an upscale clientele. Over the next four years, Stephanie became the manager of a spa in the beautiful coastal town of La Ciotat, developing her passion for wellbeing and quality service.
Stephanie specializes in Sports Recovery Massage, Californian and Swedish massage. She can also provide a more gentle massage such as Abhyanga, an ancient Indian massage therapy. Alongside Stephanie’s extensive knowledge of massage techniques, she can also provide manicures, pedicures and facials.
From a young age, Stephanie has loved spending time in and out of the water; so, with her passion for wellbeing it was only natural to join the two, directing her towards the yachting industry.
Stephanie joined M/Y MIRAGE in 2016.Head Chef: Tahlee Henry
Tahlee was born in New Zealand and has spent the last ten years cooking abroad in Rarotonga, Singapore and Europe.
Tahlee began her culinary training in New Zealand and then spent two years in The Cook Islands before graduating to various fine dining restaurants in Queenstown, New Zealand. Tahlee then moved to South East Asia, working in various multicultural establishments, ending her stay at Resort World on Sentosa Island in Singapore.
Like most successful chefs, Tahlee has fostered a strong work ethic and also has respect for the natural beauty in flavors, textures and ingredients that are seasonal and locally available. She emphasizes this in the preparation, believing that fresh and quality ingredients speak for themselves with simple healthy preparation methods.
Tahlee has friends all over the world and spends her time off visiting as many of them as she can. She loves to travel and explore new cultures.
Tahlee joined M/Y Mirage in 2012.
