- Crew ProfileCaptain: Steve Shorey
Steve has been in navigating the seas for many years, both on private and charter yachts bringing his knowledge and leadership to the helm of True North. He started out in the yachting industry by doing what he loves - working on the water!” It is all about knowing what needs to be done” – Steve mentions; “by being a good team player and crew member is how you understand what being a good captain really is”. Steve has maintained steady and successful crew over the years on various size vessels, including M/Y Sonas, 24 Karat, Glorious Sun, Sunni and Kaleidoscope. He is an energetic, highly motivated individual with impeccable work ethic, 1995 captain USCG 200 ton Master license, STCW 95 and is a PADI Dive Master.
Steve is very capable of operating very busy charter programs and itineraries and has covered extensive sea miles throughout South Florida, South and Central America, the Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos Islands and the Bahamas.Chef: Steve Anderson
Since his early twenties, Chef Steve Anderson has been a Private Chef and owned restaurants. His passion for food still comes through in every meal; and his presentation will awe you from the moment you sit down until you savor your last bite. Steve grew up in Illinois and New Jersey. After High School, he earned a scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. In 1987, he graduated with the highest honors, earning the Richard T. Keating award. After graduation, Steve has spent many years cooking for families as a Private Chef and owning/operating restaurants. When he sold his last restaurant, he turned his focus back to the Private Chef industry, but instead of cooking on land, you will now find him cooking in the Galley on True North.Chief Stewardess: Whitney Anderson
Whitney is a native of Birmingham, AL, but now calls Key West home with her husband, Chef Steve. She has worked in the yachting industry for over 5 years and enjoys entertaining guests and meeting new people. She has cruised the waters of New England, Florida, The Bahamas and the Caribbean. Whitney loves decorating tables and planning parties and events for guests. The interior of the boat is her forte, however, she holds a 100 Ton Captain's License and enjoys operating the tender and being outside with guests as well.First Mate: Taylor Yates
Growing up in Florida, Taylor has spent countless hours on, in, and around the water, fishing, surfing, boating, as well as several years working as a Beach Patrol Lifeguard. He loves fishing, diving, or just cruising around in the tender and is always ready to take guests out. He recently acquired his 100 ton master captains license, as well as his STCW 95, and is a certified PADI diver.
