Steve has been in navigating the seas for many years, both on private and charter yachts bringing his knowledge and leadership to the helm of True North. He started out in the yachting industry by doing what he loves - working on the water!” It is all about knowing what needs to be done” – Steve mentions; “by being a good team player and crew member is how you understand what being a good captain really is”. Steve has maintained steady and successful crew over the years on various size vessels, including M/Y Sonas, 24 Karat, Glorious Sun, Sunni and Kaleidoscope. He is an energetic, highly motivated individual with impeccable work ethic, 1995 captain USCG 200 ton Master license, STCW 95 and is a PADI Dive Master.
Steve is very capable of operating very busy charter programs and itineraries and has covered extensive sea miles throughout South Florida, South and Central America, the Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos Islands and the Bahamas.First Mate: Taylor Yates
Growing up in Florida, Taylor has spent countless hours on, in, and around the water, fishing, surfing, boating, as well as several years working as a Beach Patrol Lifeguard. He loves fishing, diving, or just cruising around in the tender and is always ready to take guests out. Katie is thrilled to have you aboard M/Y, True North! Katie is from the beautiful state of Virginia and has a smalltown charm with big world experience. Her journey began early on, with various experiences in hospitality all centered around travel. Her love of the ocean was a call she answered while living on the island of St. Thomas for two years. The island provided an array of experiences as she worked as a traveling bartender and chef. Soon after she realized that the vast open ocean had much more in store for her. Katie’s eye for detail is catered to creating the most special moments and feeling of ease when you step on board. Her knowledge expands to all areas of pleasure seeking. A Charleston, S.C. native, Chris has been a live-aboard boat owner for many years with a passion for water and ocean to table cooking. A former non-profit executive and children’s book author, self-taught chef Chris decided to toss out her business suit for a chef’s coat! Her lifelong passion for creating healthy, flavorful meals and daily study of recipes has well-prepared her to provide exceptional guest service aboard True North. Nothing makes Chris smile bigger than to please her guests with a beautiful meal after a long day of nautical adventure.
