DJ Parker has been a Charter Broker since 1992, gaining initial experience with two well-known international charter companies. In 1997, she founded The Neptune Group followed by the separate company of Neptune Group Yachting, and serves as the Co-Owner/President and CEO of both.
DJ serves the yachting industry as a Board Member of the Marine Industry Association of South Florida (MIASF) and President of the American Charter Yacht Association (AYCA). She also is a member of Caribbean Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA); the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA) where she is BONDED, LICENSED AND INSURED as an employing Yacht Sales Broker, and is the Treasurer/Secretary of her community civic association.
Her previous experience includes working as a licensed charter yacht captain specializing in sailing, with multiple transatlantic crossings and over 100,000 nautical miles of short-handed ocean sailing under her belt. DJ was recognized by the New York Times and Midway Magazine, among other media, for achieving a very successful yacht charter program. Her natural aquatic nature included becoming a certified SCUBA Dive Master.
DJ’s pre-maritime employment was as a Geopolitical Intelligence Analyst with the U.S. Government for 19 years. As a young child, she grew up around and on the famous estuary of the Chesapeake Bay in the seafarer town of Annapolis, Maryland. Her interests include her family, writing, sailing, diving, reading, hiking, and philosophy.
