Natural Wonders by the Water You Don’t Want to Miss

February 28, 2019 Published by | Share This Post

There are many more natural wonders than the seven most common. In fact, there are a slew of water-based natural wonders that can best be enjoyed from the deck of your private luxury yacht charter. We’ve outlined just a few of our favorites.

#1: Great Blue Hold, Belize

As one of the best places in the world to scuba dive, the “great blue hole” in Belize is home to crystal-clear water and abundant ocean life. This giant sinkhole starts 50 miles off the coast and (in case it wasn’t obvious) is only accessible by water. A luxury yacht charter is the ideal means of transportation and will allow ample time to fully discover this world wonder.

#2: Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

Plitvice Lakes National Park is the oldest and largest national park in Croatia. It is also the most visited site in the country. The star of the show here is waterfalls – big, small, wide and tall! The park was granted its protected status in 1949 and it’s not hard to understand why so many visitors make time to flock to this slice of paradise, which is just a day’s trip from the coast.

#3: Deep Sea Vents, Ecuador

The official “hydrothermal vents” of Ecuador is considered a world wonder by many because of its unique ecosystem. These pockets of deep sea can maintain sunlight despite a complete lack of sunshine. Tube worms, sea cucumbers and sponges make this place a marvel of modern science. We think it’s a great place for photographs and a quick trip to see something unique and truly one-of-a-kind.

#4: The Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef in the world. So large in fact that it can be seen from space. The Great Barrier Reef made headlines in 2018 with many experts deeming the reef dead. Regardless if you consider this vast underground environment thriving or suffering, the Great Barrier Reef is a sight to be seen. It’s easily accessible by luxury yacht charter and is a coveted vacation spot for many visiting the Australian and New Zealand area.

#5: Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Galapagos Islands is home to some of the most unique wildlife in the world. Boat adventures and yacht charters to the Galapagos Islands are popular and common. We recommend you plan a few days here to take in the sunshine and sights of wildlife both on land and under the sea.
